Highly recommend Like Home Guest House
Super clean, comfortable, nice owner
very clean and easy to reach. Recommended!
Nothing (well, inconsiderate guests but that's not the guest house's fault!)
Very clean, helpful staff (not always present but quick to respond), great location (quiet neighborhood, very close to the metro station and the central station, the city center is a bit far but very easy and cheap to reach by metro).
A good budget choice for a single night, but uncomfortable for a longer stay
The single toilet - which is also the shower room - can be a bit of problem, especially when someone needs to use the toilet urgently while someone else takes a shower. During my two-night stay, this situation arose several times, and the place wasn't even fully occupied! (I was the sole occupant of a three-bed room. I dread to think what it would be like if every bed in every room is taken during the main season.) -- The 'free coffee and tea' consisted of two single-portion sachets for three rooms. I used one on arrival, then bought my own. It was never replenished. -- The location, although great for the bus and train station, is not good for sightseeing or doing things in Sofia. If you want to go anywhere in the town centre, it's a half-hour (or three-quarters-of-an-hour) walk away, and it's not a particularly pleasant walk. So I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay, just for a single night. -- A fellow traveller arrived at the agreed time and was told that his room wasn't ready, which put him in an awkward situation because he had an appointment. (My own room was ready.) -- There was no wardrobe, no clothes hooks, no chest of drawers, nothing at all to hang or put clothes on or in. That's ok for a one-night stay when you don't bother to unpack your backpack or suitcase, but not for a longer stay. -- The bed was uncomfortable, with a thin saggy mattress. Each time I sat on the bed, lay down or turned around in my sleep, the bed creaked ominously like it was about to break.
It's very good value for money if you're travelling on a budget. -- I particularly recommend this place if you want to spend just one night and catch a train/bus/plane the next morning, because it's located close to the central train and bus stations. (It's less suitable for longer stays.) -- It's very clean. -- As a budget choice for a one-night stay it certainly is preferable over the ghastly Pension Vega.)
Efficient, clean, friendly, simple - close to bus/train/metro
Only one bed cover was provided - no extra/spare blanket. While the day was warm, the night was cold and I really needed a second cover/blanket to stay warm. If you are sensitive to cold, make sure to ask for this before you retire for the night!
Super clean. Very helpful staff. Shared kitchen facilities are useful (kettle, microwave, cups, fridge, table/chairs etc.). Herbal teabags and coffee sachets are provided - but bring black tea or milk, if you need those also. I longed for a cup of black tea with milk, but made do with mint tea and sugar. The shared bathroom is small, but has everything you need (sink, toilet, shower, toilet roll, towel hooks). A multi-purpose liquid soap is provided in the bathroom - it works as handwash, shampoo, shower gel - but it is better to bring your own shampoo if you have sensitive hair! Plastic slippers are provided at the bathroom. Some hooks are inside the bathroom door but bring a plastic bag in with you so you can keep all your toiletries/clothes together and carry them to and from your room easily. Location is perfect for walking to bus/train/metro station - very close. There are a couple of shops a few seconds walk away for snacks, drinks etc. I couldn't find restaurants/bars in immediate area, so you may need to walk or take a taxi into a more recreational area if you wish to "eat out". Indeed, the reception staff gave me a map and showed me a few options. The guesthouse is in a quiet residential area. The beds are not luxurious but the peace will give you a good sleep.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Close to rail and bus stations
Convenient location, but too much smell from cleaning detergents.
They use some extra strong cleaning chemicals, with artificial aroma. There is no air fresher inside the room, but the whole place smelled like someone poured a one litter of perfume on the floor. For people sensitive to this kind of smells I do not recommend staying there. I could not fall a sleep all night. There is no window with a outside view because it is tinted, and you cant open the window for fresh air, but you have to use some built in ventilator which makes a lot of noise.
The location is 5 min walk from the train station and buss station. The place is generally clean, and slippers are provided for the shower. The toilet is small but not so small. There are kitchen facilities, microwave, water heater fridge etc. Free tea is provided.
Seamless check-in. Close to the main train station. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen where you can prepare some basic breakfast. Very good price.
Very good value for money, bathroom cramped but functional, a very pleasant place to stay
Great value for money. Clean, warm and great location for exploring Sofia
The definition of best value for money
very good staff. near to train and bus stations
the whole process from check in to check out was perfect. Emil was so friendly and helpful.
Staff is professional and inviting. Very close to the Central Train Station - perfect if you travel next day. It looks like the place has been recently renovated, rooms and bathroom are very clean, rooms are cosy, there is a kitchen which is shared with other tenants (you can prepare yourself a breakfast/tea/coffee). At this location and at this service you can't beat the price. Foreigners please take a note - they don't provide 24 hours check-in and if you arrive late in the evening you should be able to make a call or send an email prior to arriving.
Very good value, excellent facilities
Clean, warm, with helpful staff, and in a convenient location for the central train and bus stations. Most importantly, as a person who is nearly two metres tall, the bed was big and comfortable. :)
Worth to stay
It could be better if toilet and bathroom would have been separated Bathroom is too small, it is quite hard to avoid your towels stay dry while you are taking a shower A pillow is too high for me and made me inconvenient while I was sleeping
Appropriate kitchenware Big fridge including freezer Cleanliness
